Cycling along lost cities of Lycia
about the tour
Lost Cities of Lycia is a 6-day, 5-night self-guided cycling journey where the road becomes your own story.
From the sunlit coastline of Fethiye to hidden mountain cities, you follow ancient Lycian paths past rock tombs, ghost villages, and ruins lost in silence.

Ride quiet coastal roads, cross turquoise waters to St. Nicholas Island, and climb to forgotten monasteries carved into cliffs — all at your own pace, guided by instinct and curiosity. Each day reveals a new layer: sea, history, wilderness, and a deep sense of freedom.

This is more than a route — it’s a self-guided experience through time, where every kilometer connects you to something older, slower, and truly meaningful.

Fethiye - Amyntas rock tombs - PENINSULA
cycling route:
Fethiye → Amyntas Rock Tombs → Fethiye Peninsula

30 km, elevation: 500 m
Climbing gently above Fethiye, you reach the Amyntas rock tombs — carved into the cliffs 2,400 years ago. Standing there, overlooking the bay, you feel the first connection to Lycia.
A smooth, winding ride around the peninsula — pine forests, endless sea views, and hidden beaches below. You can stop anytime: swim, float, reset.
Fethiye - KAYAKOY - GEMILER - ST.NICHOLAS ISLAND
cycling route:
Fethiye - Kayakoy - Gemiler - St.Nicholas island (optional)
48 km, elevation: 900 m
Start the day with the uphill historical heritage of the Lycian civilization, and the abandoned stone houses of Kayaköy. You can take a break in the village to try local food, then continue to the diamond-blue bays of Gemiler on the way you can hike to 11th century Afkule Monastery.
A rewarding descent brings you to Gemiler Bay, where you can swim in crystal-clear waters or take a short boat trip to St. Nicholas Island.
Fethiye - CADIANDA - FETHIYE
cycling route:
Fethiye - Cadianda - Fethiye
60 km, elevation: 1000 m
You leave the coast behind and climb into the mountains.
Hidden in the forest lies Cadianda — one of the most atmospheric Lycian cities. No crowds. No noise. Just ruins scattered among trees: a stadium, baths, temples.

From above, the panoramic views stretch endlessly over valleys and distant sea.
Fethiye - Girmeler cave - Tlos - Fethiye
cycling route:
Koycegiz – Akyaka
52 km, elevation: 350 m
You cycle through rural landscapes — small villages, orchards, open valleys where life moves slowly.
Stop at Girmeler Cave, one of the oldest human settlements in the region — mysterious and grounding.
Then continue toward Tlos — a powerful Lycian city crowned by a fortress. Tombs carved into rock, a Roman stadium, layers of civilizations stacked together.
